Time to bring on the political debates in Indian Elections.
BJP’s Prime Minister hopeful L. K. Advani has challenged the present Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to a live TV debate. This is an idea whose time has come. Debates, live on TV provide advantages to voter to decide whome to vote.
Debates will allow an Indian voter to see the real point of view of each of the candidate and not just what their party is harping for. It will be very interesting for us to find out LK Advani’s view on Varun Gandhi’s ranting against muslims and similarly Manmohan Singh’s getting a heart operated up on after 26/11 crisis and will he be able to handle similar crisis in future.
Debates in Indian Election will also help the voters as speaking in front of such a large forum the candidates will have to ensure that once elected they do not change their opinion.
These Debates need to be made more interactive by taking questions from the viewers and audiences using SMS, email, twitter etc.
It would be great to see L K Advani and MMS having a Q and A session which can lead one or both of them to be offended amd the debate getting escalates into fierce arguments.
